The Easter brunch tastefully decorated

Why organize a traditional Easter brunch when you could immerse a classy afternoon tea in Easter atmosphere? As an interior designer, stylist and curator of the online platform Selected Items byANOUK, Anouk Taeymans is on a mission to make the world - and in this case the Easter table - more beautiful. "Because chicks, Easter flowers and yellow tulips quickly look childish, I stay far away from the typical Easter clichés. It is perfectly possible to create an Easter atmosphere without the stereotypical Easter bunny with bright yellow eggs", says Anouk. "I try to give it a glamorous touch by working with accents in brass and gold. Instant party vibes guaranteed."

When it comes to flowers and plants, Anouk stays away from the clichés. "Instead of Easter flowers and yellow tulips, I choose cherry blossom branches and freesias. I prefer to work with flowers that last a long time and dry nicely, such as gypsophila and eucalyptus," says Anouk, who does not have to think for long about what exactly should be the attention-grabber on the festive Easter table. “The chocolates, of course. I don’t see why you would spend hours in the kitchen for an Easter party, while you thrill all your guests with delicious chocolates anyway. Plus: the packaging of the Neuhaus Easter collection is completely in line with current decoration trends. The colors are rather muted and the boxes in pastel shades seem to have been sprinkled with bronze.” In short: there is no reason to hide the packaging in the kitchen cupboard - or is there? If there is one cliché Anouk would rather not let go of: "You are never too old to hide and seek Easter eggs. A perfect activity to get an Easter party going, if you ask me."

Anouk herself would resolutely hunt for the handcrafted blue eggs from the beautiful Premium Easter Eggs box: a luxurious collection of 15 handmade pralines. "I really love the combination of chocolate, salt and caramel. The blue ones from the handcrafted Premium Easter Eggs box are milk chocolate eggs, filled with a salted butter caramel and a white chocolate ganache with Madagascan vanilla and crunchy caramelized hazelnut pieces. So, you won’t find those on my Easter table: I will obviously keep those to myself!”
