1. Throw the Easter clichés out of the window. All items that first come to mind when you hear 'Easter' - the Easter flowers, the bunny or chicken, the yellow tulips – are not to be used this time. Only the chocolate eggs remain.
2. Choose muted colors instead of bright, energetic shades. Also stay away from white and black as much as possible, instead pick soft options like pastel yellow, light mint green and soft baby blue.
3. Buy timeless accessories. Instead of being seduced by cute (but expensive) plates with bunny patterns or large porcelain eggs, you are better off choosing accessories that can be re-used for other occasions. A nice brass bowl to serve chocolate eggs in for example, or a terrazzo or fumed glass accessory.
