THE STORY BEHIND 1857

1857: Jean Neuhaus settles in Brussels and opens a pharmacy in the prestigious Galerie de la Reine. With his customers’ well-being at heart, he covers his medicines with a layer of chocolate to make them more palatable.

WHAT'S INSIDE?

Flavors beloved from childhood, poured with care into a sophisticated, milk chocolate praline. The 1857 gets its moreish crunch from the traditional Belgian speculoos, a cookie with the comforting combined flavors of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and nutmeg.
